Program Info

Refrigeration and ventilation systems are growing more efficient and more complicated every year. Installing, fixing and maintaining these systems requires specialized, up-to-date knowledge and experience. This program prepares students to work as commercial service technicians on refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump systems. Students work in the classroom and on real appliances to get a thorough understanding of electrical and refrigeration theory. They will learn to service, repair, and troubleshoot equipment, and how to safely handle, store, and dispose of refrigerants. They will also gain experience in the brazing and soldering of copper, steel, and aluminum.
