ELLISVILLE – Most of the JCJC Bobcat Math League was on Fall Break this week with only four teams competing. In the Einstein Division, Sylva Bay squeaked past Bay Springs in a tight match, 40-37. The Bulldogs are now 0-2 in their Division and the Saints are 1-1. Einstein Division second place contender, the Taylorsville Tartars, trampled over the Quitman Panthers, 77-37. This was the first win for Taylorsville after being off the first two weeks while Quitman is split 1-1.

The three other divisions were on Fall Break so the standings remain unchanged. The most individual correct-points standings remain the same with PCS’s Mallory Vial with 90 percent, Lawrence County’s Ben Rushing has 85 percent and there is a six-way tie for third place, with an 80 percent accuracy rate.

In competition next week, keep your eyes on the PCS Bobcats and the Sacred Heart Crusaders match, the Taylorsville Tartars vs. the Stringer Red Devils match, and the Richton Rebels hosting the Wayne County War Eagles match because they could determine new leaders in those divisions.
