GED graduates receive scholarships

During a special graduation ceremony held July 22, eight graduates of Jones County Junior College’s GED program were awarded tuition scholarships for having the highest GED score in their county. Greene County’s Linda Parker also received a $500 scholarship from the JCJC Foundation Inc., for being the overall high GED scorer. Scholarship recipients included Linda Parker of Greene County, Sarabeth Culpepper of Covington County, Katey Dolbear of Perry County, Magen McDurmond of Clarke County, Jonathan Brewer of Wayne County, Savannah Peterson of Smith County, Trey Pickens of Jasper County and Brandi Dayner of Jones County. More than 400 students completed their GED at Jones this year with many registered for fall classes at the college.
