ELLISVILLE - Grab your swimsuit, goggles, and a towel and head to the Laurel Natatorium for a Swim Camp offered by Jones County Junior College. This four day Swim Camp is designed for children who will be in second through eighth grade, this year. The camp will be held Monday, June 10, through Thursday, June 13, from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the Laurel Natatorium.

The JCJC Swim Camp will strive to familiarize youth with the four basic swimming strokes and provide a positive exercise experience in the form of swimming. Swimmers with little knowledge of the four competitive strokes, as well as those wanting to improve their stroke technique, are encouraged to attend. This camp will provide students the necessary skills needed for competing on school swim teams or on the local swim team. In fact, continued competitive swimming opportunities for those completing the camp will be available through the Laurel Swim Association.

The JCJC Swim Camp will be conducted by Chad Garick, who is the Assistant Coach for the Laurel Swim Association, Certified USA Swimming Coach, and a JCJC geography instructor.

The cost of the camp is $45.00 per swimmer and it includes a JCJC Swim Camp T-Shirt as well as a snack each day. Pre-registration forms and more information can be found at www.jcjc.edu/camps or forms may be picked up at the JCJC Fitness Center. For more information, please contact Chad Garick at 601-310-5074 or email: chad.garick@jcjc.edu .
