ELLISVILLE– The first Jones County Junior College faculty and staff toy drive for the Salvation Army went beyond everyone’s expectations. Eight large bags of toys were collected at the annual Employee Recognition Luncheon to assist the Salvation Army with its Angel Tree program.
Salvation Army’s Lt. Stacey Connelly said, “A lot of our ‘Angels’ are unable to fill the entire list of wishes so this donation will help tremendously. We still have Angels who need adopting so this will help fill a need in the community.”
VP of Advancement and the Executive Director of the Foundation Inc., Caroline Ramagos explained, “This was an opportunity for the college’s employees to give back to the community and we were overwhelmed with their generosity. We were still collecting gifts long after the luncheon was over. This makes me even prouder to be a part of the Jones family.”
Romagos said the Toy Drive may become a new JCJC Christmas tradition.
