ELLISVILLE – The Jones County Junior College student practical nurses assisted South Central Regional Medical Center administer flu shots during its employee health fair recently. Under the watchful eyes of LPN instructors Diane Henderson and Helena Gunnell, JCJC students had the opportunity to boost their shot giving skills. Residents at the Jones County Rest Home were also a part of this community service and hands on training for students.
JCJC LPN program director, Kathy Elliott explained the more practice students get in the clinical setting the more prepared they are to deal with real-world experiences and it enhances the learning process whenever students can apply skills they learn in the classroom.
