JCJC Offers ServSafe Certification

ELLISVILLE - Jones County Junior College’s Workforce Development is offering a one-day ServSafe Certification training each month. Federal and state requirements for food handlers specify that anyone serving prepared food to the public must be certified. The ServSafe training at JCJC prepares the student for safe food handling and the certification exam.
ServeSafe class dates for July, August and September are: Tuesday, July 17, Auguste 21 and September 18. These one-day classes are held at the Ronald E. Whitehead Advanced Technology Center in the Howard Technology Park, Ellisville. Instruction will take place from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. with the exam following.
The cost of the course is $150.00 per person, which includes the course book, study packet and exam. Payment must be made and books picked up one week prior to class. Students should study the material before class to keep pace with the quick format. 
JCJC Workforce Development has established a reputation as a leader in ServSafe certification training with an outstanding success rate. Remember to ensure you are in compliance with state law, those completing the course must re-certify every five years. For more information or to register for class, call 601-477-4114.
