JCJC offers new youth football camps in six locations

ELLISVILLE – Jones County Junior College’s football coaches will be bringing a new camp, “Bobcat Youth Football Camp” to six locations in June for youth ages 8 through 12 years. Registration for camp will be held from 8 a.m. until 8:45 a.m. at each of the locations, and the camp will end at 11:30 a.m.
Beginning on Monday, June 4, camp will be hosted by the JH Spriggs Recreational League at Oak Park Field in Laurel. The Jones County Youth Sports Association will host camp in Ellisville at JCJC’s Sim Cooley Field/Bobcat Stadium on Tuesday, June 5. On Wednesday, June 6, the Stringer Youth League will be hosting camp at Stringer Attendance Center’s High School stadium.
The “Bobcat Youth Football Camp” heads south on Monday, June 11, as the Petal Youth Sports Association hosts camp on the Petal Youth Field. On Tuesday, June 12, the Richton Youth League will host the camp on the Richton High School football field. The Wayne County Youth League will host the final “Bobcat Youth Football Camp” at the Wayne County High School Stadium on Wednesday, June 13.
The cost of the camp is $25 per camper. Players will be instructed in the basic principles of football including position specific techniques. Rules of the game and fundamentals will be taught. Players will be drilled in position specific techniques for: QB, WR, RB, OL, DL, DB, LB. Players can expect high quality instruction from college coaches and select area high school coaches. JCJC’s “Bobcat Football Skills Camp”
for grades 9 through 12 will be held Friday, June 8, and Saturday, June 9. Registration for the high school skills camp will be held from 7:30 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. on Friday, June 8, at the JCJC Bobcat Field House. Skills Camp ends Saturday, June 9, at noon. Players will be drilled in position specific techniques for: QB, WR, RB, FB, DB, LB. The cost of the camp for high school players is $100 for overnight and $80 for day campers.
