JCJC’s Music Department hosts Spring Recital Series

ELLISVILLE – Music lovers will be able to enjoy a musical feast on Friday’s at Jones County Junior College. The annual Spring Recital Series features a variety of musicians and vocalist entertaining the audience during the lunch hour. The last two weeks of the musical event series is Friday, April 13 and 20, at 12:30 p.m. until 12:55 p.m. All concerts are free and open to the public. For more information call the JCJC Fine Arts Department at 601-477-4094 or look online at: http://www.jcjc.edu/programs/finearts/finearts_events.php.
The Southern Miss Chamber Players will perform works from Kurtág and Martinů on Friday, April 13, at 12:30 p.m. in the JCJC Fine Arts Auditorium. This lively and varied group of musicians includes Jason Bergman on trumpet, Jorge Gonzalez playing violin, Ana Cristina-Abrantes on cello, Jonathan Holden playing clarinet, Kimberly Woolly on bassoon, Joseph Brumbeloe playing piano, Danilo Mezzadri on flute, Nicholas Ciraldo playing guitar and Ben McIlwain on trombone. 
Wrapping up the Recital Series on Friday, April 20, in the Foote Chapel at JCJC, will be two ‘royal’ performers. William Carey University’s Constance Roberts singing soprano, and pianist from USM, Ellen Elder will perform American composer Libby Larsen’s Try Me, Good King: The Last Words of the Wives of Henry VIII.
