ELLISVILLE – Jones County Junior College’s energy education director, Brian Ginn and physical plant director, Michael Bradshaw accepted the “Outstanding Achievement in Energy Efficiency and New Technology” award recently. The recognition comes from the Energy Division of the Mississippi Development Authority for the college’s efforts in the State Energy Management Program.
“The college’s energy conservation efforts resulted in a 22% reduction in electricity, gas, and water usage from June 2010 thru July 2011. This equates to a savings of $390,869.00 and an equivalency of reducing 2,854 Metric tons of CO2. The collective effort of every student, faculty and staff member is why JCJC was recognized,” said Ginn.
Ginn and Bradshaw accepted the energy conservation award on behalf of the college, which competed against commercial, industrial and educational facilities throughout the state.
