Lady Bobcats blank Co-Lin; prepare for 2nd-ranked Tyler

 WESSON – Morgan Pace scored three goals to help the Jones County Junior College Lady Bobcats blank Co-Lin Community College 5-0 here Thursday afternoon.

The victory lifts JCJC to 6-1 overall, 2-1 in South Division.

The Lady Bobcats, who received votes in this week’s NJCAA poll, will faced second-ranked Tyler Junior College (Texas) at 6 p.m. on Saturday at Hinds Community College in Raymond. Tyler defeated JCJC 4-1 in the NJCAA District E Tournament last year.

The Lady Bobcats scored first when Chelsea Wooten booted a corner kick and Co-Lin headed the ball into their own goal. Pace got the second and third goals off assists by Danica Roberts. Pace got the fourth goal and Roberts scored the final goal.

JCJC led 2-0 at halftime.

Aundrea Borchardt and Kristen Pittman split time in goal for the Lady Bobcats.

The Lady Bobcats will host Meridian Community College at 2 p.m. on Tuesday.

Co-Lin falls to 1-5 overall, 0-2 in the division. The Lady Wolves host Miss. Gulf Coast on Wednesday.
