JCJC takes two from Southwest

 SUMMIT – Jones County Junior College recorded a pair of soccer victories over Southwest Mississippi Community College here Tuesday afternoon.

The Lady Bobcats blanked SMCC 5-0 behind four goals from Danica Roberts. In the men’s game, Giuliano Mancini scored all four of JCJC’s goals as the Bobcats beat the Bears, 4-1.

In the women’s game, Roberts got the first four goals and Leslie Masters got the final goal. Brandee Kovacevich, Kimberly Murray and Chelsea Wooten had assists.

The Lady Bobcats are now 5-1 overall, 1-1 in South Division play. Southwest is now 1-4 overall, 0-1 in the division.

In the men’s game, Tyler Alexander had three assists and Mason Tabb added another assist. The Bobcat men are now 2-3-1 overall, 1-1 in the division. SMCC falls to 0-4 overall, 0-1 in the division.

The Lady Bobcats visit Co-Lin at 5 p.m. on Thursday and face nationally ranked Tyler Junior College ((Texas) at 6 p.m. on Saturday at Hinds Community College in Raymond.

The JCJC men visit Co-Lin at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
