ELLISVILLE – It was a battle of MACJC South Division women’s soccer powers here Saturday evening at Bobcat Soccer Field and the visitors emerged victorious.
Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College’s Tori Ewert scored in the 73rd minute to break a 1-1 tie and lift the Lady Bulldogs to a 2-1 victory over Jones County Junior College.
Both teams entered the game with 4-0 records and neither had allowed a goal all season.
In the men’s game, the Bulldogs led 3-0 late in the game, but had to hang on to beat JCJC, 3-2.
The Bobcats continue division play Tuesday by going to Southwest Mississippi. MGCCC hosts Pearl River on Tuesday.

It was a hard-fought game throughout and the Lady Bobcats had plenty of opportunities, but could not capitalize.
MGCCC took a 1-0 lead at 7:58 when Blair Guice scored.
