"Bobcat Preseason Soccer Special" to air on JCJC-TV

 ELLISVILLE – The Jones County Junior College soccer teams were on the air on Wednesday morning.

JCJC-TV taped its annual “Bobcat Preseason Soccer Special” at the Bobcat Soccer Field.

Lady Bobcat head coach Dolores Deasley, along with players Audrey Borchardt of D’Iberville and Haley Crosby of Oak Grove, were interviewed along with men’s coach Oleg Baleyev and players Kyle Upchurch of Terry and Dillon Boatner of Clarkdale. Bobcat athletic director Katie Herrington was also on the show.

Lance Pittman, the “Voice of the Bobcats,” conducted the interviews, while JCJC webmaster Jared Meyers served as producer/director.

The show will be posted soon on the JCJC-TV website at www.jcjc.tv.

The 2011 soccer season is almost here.

The Bobcat men’s team will face William Carey University in a 4 p.m. scrimmage on Aug. 18 in Hattiesburg, while the Lady Bobcats will hold an Alumni Game at 11 a.m. on Aug. 20. Both teams will host East Central in a scrimmage on Aug. 23 with the women’s game starting at 5:30 p.m., followed by the men’s game at 7:30 p.m.

The regular season begins for the men with a road game vs. Holmes in Jackson at 5 p.m. on Aug. 26, while the Lady Bobcats open the season at home at 6 p.m. on Aug. 27 against Hinds.

The Lady Bobcats posted a 15-3-1 record last year and won the MACJC and Region 23 championships. The men’s team had an 8-7 mark.
