Bobcat tennis team finishes 16th in the nation

 PLANO, Texas – The Jones County Junior College Bobcat men’s tennis team ended their season here Wednesday in the NJCAA Division II Men’s Tennis Tournament at Collin College.

In a No. 2 doubles’ consolation match, JCJC’s Nick Williams and Armand Deniakos fell to Christian Belina and Jeremy Dunham of Georgia Perimeter College, 6-3, 6-4. In a No. 3 doubles’ consolation match, Bobcats’ Josh Agee and Casper Wansley lost to Shane Allen and Nathaniel Shook of Mesa Community College (Ariz.), 3-6, 7-6, 10-8.

The Bobcats end the tournament with 12.5 points, which currently has them in 16th place. Vincennes University (Ind.) and Tyler Junior College (Texas) are tied for the top spot with 35 points. The tourney will end Friday.

JCJC is second among the four Mississippi schools in the tournament. Meridian has 15 points, Itawamba has seven points and Hinds has 5.5 points.
