JCJC Gardening Symposium

ELLISVILLE – Area gardeners are invited to attend the fifth annual Gardening Symposium hosted by the Jones County Junior College Foundation, Inc. on Thursday, April 28, from 8 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. in the Whitehead Advanced Technology Center in Ellisville, Miss.

The cost for those registering by April 20 is $50 ($60 thereafter) and includes workshops, lectures and lunch. All proceeds go towards funding scholarships and other needs for the JCJC Horticulture Program.

Participants can attend four of five available workshops on the following topics: landscape maintenance, native plants, changes in vegetable gardening, vegetable gardening for small spaces and water features.
 
Guest lecturers are William Brewer, owner and lead designer of Cardinal Flowers, Inc. in Gulfport and Felder Rushing who recently retired from the Mississippi Extension Service as the state’s leading consumer horticulturist.
