ELLISVILLE – Officials have decided to move up the starting time of Wednesday’s softball game between Jones County Junior College and Holmes Community College at Community Bank Park.
Because of the possibility of inclement weather, the opening day softball game will now start at 1:30 p.m., instead of 2:30 p.m. The ceremonial first pitch will take place at 1:15 p.m. The second game of the women’s doubleheader is set for 3:30 p.m.
The schedule remains the same for the baseball games between JCJC and Baton Rouge Community College (La.). The ceremonial first pitch will be at 1:45 p.m. and the actual first pitch of the game will be at 2 p.m. Game two is scheduled for 4 p.m.
There will be free admission to all games on opening day.
The ribbon cutting ceremony for Community Bank Park will still be held at the stadium entrance at 12:30 p.m.
Fans can listen to the audiocast of the first softball game and the second baseball game on www.jcjc.tv with Lance Pittman on the call for both contests.
