Bobcat soccer players receive postseason honors

ELLISVILLE – Eight members of the MACJC and Region 23 Jones County Junior College women’s soccer team have been chosen for postseason honors.

Sophomores Mallory Cowart of South Jones and Bridget Dennis of West Jones, along with freshmen Audrey Borchardt of D’Iberville and Danica Roberts of Liversedge, England, were named to the All-Region 23 team.

Sophomore Aubrey Weems of Madison Central, along with freshmen Trahrissa Monroe of Long Beach, Macey Endris of Madison Central and Michelle Brumfield of Mobile, Ala., were named to the All-MACJC team.

For the Bobcat men, Northwest Rankin freshman Jake Benton and Weston, Fla., freshman Giuliano Mancini were named to the All-MACJC team.

Third-year Lady Bobcat head coach Dolores Deasley was chosen as the All-MACJC and All-Region 23 Coach of the Year after guiding her team to a 15-3-1 record, which included a first-ever state and regional championship. JCJC advanced to the finals of the NJCAA District E Tournament in Tyler, Texas, where they fell to the homestanding and top-ranked Tyler Junior College Lady Apaches.
