Former Jones County Junior College standout wide receiver Deion Branch had a terrific return to the New England Patriots.

Branch had nine receptions for 98 yards, including a crucial 5-yard touchdown catch early in the fourth quarter, as the Patriots rallied to defeat the Baltimore Ravens, 23-20 in overtime, in Foxborough, Mass.

The Ravens led 20-10 early in the fourth quarter, but Branch’s touchdown reception sparked the comeback. He also had two catches on the game-winning drive in overtime.

Branch, who starred for the Bobcats in 1997-98, was traded from the Seattle Seahawks to the Patriots last week. Branch, who helped lead the 12-0 Bobcats to a national title in 1998, was drafted by New England in 2002. He was traded following the 2005 season to Seattle.

He was named Most Valuable Player of Super Bowl XXXIX after helping the Patriots to a 24-21 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles.

New England, 4-1, travels this week to San Diego to take on the Chargers in a game that will air at 3:15 p.m. on CBS on Sunday.
