JCJC is Offering OSHA General Industry Course

ELLISVILLE—Jones County Junior College’s Workforce Development Team is offering a 30 hour OSHA General Industry course at the JCJC Whitehead Advanced Technology Center. The three day course will be held on October 12 through 14, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. This course helps participants understand how to apply OSHA standards, indentify workplace hazards, and how to avoid, control, and prevent unsafe acts or situations in an industrial or business setting. Also, practical information to effectively manage the workplace’s safety and health program will be discussed. 
 
The 30 hour General Industry course will be taught by Ben Rosenkrans, an authorized OSHA Outreach Trainer. He will incorporate classroom lecture with hands-on skills training. Participants will receive a 29 CFR 1910 OSHA General Industry Standards and course handouts. Successful completion of the course results in the awarding of a 30 hour OSHA General Industry card.
