Bobcat soccer teams sweep Co-Lin

 ELLISVILLE – It was an excellent afternoon for the Jones County Junior College soccer teams here Saturday afternoon at the Bobcat Soccer Field.

The Lady Bobcats blanked Co-Lin 4-0, while the men’s team beat the Wolves, 5-1.

The Lady Bobcats led 1-0 at halftime. JCJC got goals from Macey Endris, Danica Roberts, Brittnee Kovacevich and a free kick goal from Bridget Dennis. Chelsea Wooten had two assists and Endris added one. Michelle Brumfield had the shutout in goal.

The Lady Bobcats are now 5-2-1 overall, 2-1 in the division. Co-Lin drops to 1-3 overall, 0-2 in league play.

Guiliano Mancini got the ‘hat trick’ for the Bobcat men, scoring three goals. Mason Tabb and Manuel Ferrer each added a goal. Tabb, Ferrer, Jake Benton and Dillon Boatner had assists for JCJC.

Ryan Weaver scored for Co-Lin.

The JCJC men are now 3-5 overall, 1-2 in the division. Co-Lin falls to 0-4 overall, 0-2 in division play.

The Bobcat soccer teams continue division play at Southwest on Wednesday. The women’s game begins at 2 p.m., followed by the men’s game at 4 p.m.

Co-Lin travels to Pearl River on Wednesday.
