JCJC becomes Hurricane Harvey Collection Center for Houston area disaster relief

ELLISVILLE –Jones County Junior College along with Endom Trailer, Parish Transport LLC., and Howard Industries will be hosting an essential needs drive for the Houston Area affected by Hurricane Harvey. Donations will be accepted on the campus of Jones County Junior College, in the Transportation and Bus Barn area which is located across from the Home and Health Services building and Community Bank baseball-softball fields.  Donations will be accepted beginning on Friday, September 1, at 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Volunteers will be filling trailers from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and on Monday, September 4, from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Please note, only cleaning supplies, personal hygiene items and non-perishable food items will be accepted. (See complete list below.)  The donation location will not be accepting open packages, homemade food items, perishable foods, baby food and items with “expired” dates.  Bottled water and high-protein canned foods, like tuna, stew, pasta, are in high demand.
If you would like to make a monetary donation, the JCJC Foundation, Inc., will be ensuring donations for disaster relief in Texas will be distributed through the Reach Out America program to purchase supplies for victims of Hurricane Harvey. Scrub Brushes
Garbage Bags
Personal Hygiene Items
Toiletries (toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, razors, deodorant)
Feminine Hygiene Products
Wet Wipes
Hand Sanitizer

Non-perishable Food
Most Needed Items:
Protein items - Canned tuna or chicken
Canned stews and pasta/meat
Peanut butter
Canned fruits
Juice cans or boxes
Canned vegetables
Soups with meat and/or beans, meal-in-a-can
Cereals and cereal bars
Bottled Water
The donation location will not be accepting the following items:
Open packages
Homemade food items
Perishable foods
Baby food
Items with “expired” dates
