JCJC sophomores earn Gold Key Awards

ELLISVILLE– Twenty-three Jones County Junior College sophomores are eligible to receive the Academic Gold Key honor because of their 4.0 GPA prior to final exams. Five other graduating students were awarded Leadership, Athletic and Merit Gold Key Awards during graduation practice. 
 
The Merit Gold Key recipients are Samantha Dean of Laurel and Elijah Cummins of Oak Grove.  Leadership Gold Key recipients are Laura Armour of Laurel and Elijah Cummins. Baseball player, Mason Strickland of Ellisville and soccer player Abbey Graham of Laurel were selected for the Athletic Gold Key Award.  These students were voted on by the sophomore class for this special recognition. 
 
The 23 JCJC students expected to receive the Academic Gold Key honor include: Katlyn Barrett-Lumberton; Jack Batte-Forest; James Breland-Laurel; Jeremy Bynum-Laurel; Bridgett Cooley-Ellisville; Samantha Dean-Laurel; Miranda Espey-Enterprise; Joanna Espy-Monticello; Jonathan Fennell-Ellisville; Austin Flynt-Ovett; Stephanie Hill-New Augusta; Karly Jones-Ellisville; Arianna Kitchens-Collins; Taylor Lawrence-Laurel; Morgan Lewis-Ellisville; Cade Lott-Hattiesburg; Hannah Love-Mt. Olive; Malcolm McLendon-Neely; Kaylee Parker-Ellisville; Kristina Pertuit-Poplarville; Rachel Shinn-Columbia; Joseph Speir-Mize; Makayla Waites-Richton; Shelton Wallace-Brandon and Abigail Wilson-Columbus.
