JCJC offers NCCER core workforce training course in Jasper County

BAY SPRINGS – Jones County Junior College’s Workforce Training Center in Bay Springs is offering a non-credit, NCCER core class as a pre-requisite for welding, millwright and machining. This course will meet on Thursdays, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., beginning October 1 through November 19. 
 
The NCCER core class will cover basic safety, introduction to construction math, introduction to hand tools, introduction to power tools, introduction to construction drawings, basic communication skills, basic employ-ability skills and an introduction to material handling. At the end of the course, participants will be able to safely and effectively apply their new skills to satisfactorily complete all the of the core tasks required to enter the next level of welding, precision machining or millwright and receive a certificate of completion. The cost for the non-credit core class is $150.
