ELLISVILLE – Six Jones County Junior College faculty have been chosen to participate in the annual Lamplighter program. It is designed to honor excellent faculty from all the two-year colleges in the state of Mississippi with three days of professional development and entertainment.
This year, JCJC’s representatives will be Randy Vinzant-Social Science, Kerri Pippen-Math, Dr. Matthew Burnham-Science, Finee’ Ruffin-Fashion Merchandising, Joe Mauldin-Business, and Missie Meeks-English.
Each year community colleges across the state participate in the conference as a means of recognizing faculty who represent academic excellence in the classroom and demonstrate a sincere interest in the total well being of their students.
Lamplighter's will be hosted this year by Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College on Wednesday, September 29 through Friday, October 1, 2010, and is sponsored by the Mississippi Community and Junior College Council of Academic Officers.
