JCJC begins a new community wide Christmas event, “Lighting of the Lake”

ELLISVILLE The Jones County Junior College Student Government Association is hosting a new community wide Christmas caroling event called, “Lighting of the Lake” on Monday, December 8, beginning at 4:45 p.m. The college is inviting the public to join in the Christmas tree lighting and caroling around the Lake which is located behind Jones Hall.  Dr. Mark Taylor will lead the crowd in Christmas Carols at 5 p.m. while the trees are lit surrounding the lake. Christmas music will continue through 6 p.m. for your walking and listening enjoyment. Candles and hot chocolate will be provided for this free public Christmas tree lighting and caroling event, which is expected to be an annual event.

The Bobcat Santa will be at the lake for kids to take pictures with and share their Christmas lists. Also, the campus Toy Drive will continue with Buddy the Elf taking new unwrapped toys for kids in the Pine Belt. For more information contact Sonya Davis at 601-477-4229.
