ELLISVILLE – The fall weather brought out an estimated three thousand princesses, super heroes, goblins and ghouls to have fun at the annual Jones County Junior College Treats in the Streets on the eve of Halloween. Hundreds of kids participated in the costume contests for babies and teens, honoring the most creative kids with treats from JCJC and lots of games with sweet prizes.

College students who dressed the best were also given cash prizes for their efforts. Winning the Most Original category was the Queen of Hearts, Annie Price of Tupelo. The scariest JCJC students competing were Twin Clowns, Jody and Cody Courtney of Greene County. The Most Creative was Jack Frost, James Cooley of Hopkinsville, Kentucky and the Best Overall Costume went to Peter Pan and his shadow, Shelby Wesson of Petal as Peter and Sam Cruz of Pensacola as his shadow.

Treats in the Streets is an annual, free, community event that is hosted by the JCJC Student Government Association and the city of Ellisville.
