ELLISVILLE – Jones County Junior College’s Rho Sigma chapter adviser, Gwen Magee received recognition for her service to the chapter over the last five years. Magee has served in the role of adviser with current adviser, Julie Atwood and three previous, retired faculty advisers. Her service to the chapter was recognized by JCJC President, Dr. Jesse Smith at recent chapter meeting.

“During her five years in her role as adviser, the JCJC chapter of PTK, Rho Sigma has earned numerous awards including the first student to be recognized nationally. She has motivated and inspired many students to reach beyond their comfort zone to find success. Gwen has been a priceless asset to the college and is very deserving of this recognition,” said Dr. Smith.

The International headquarters of Phi Theta Kappa awarded Magee with a single sapphire set in a gold pin in recognition of her five years of service to the organization.
