JCJC is offering “Energy Camp”

ELLISVILLE –Incoming seventh and eighth graders will have the opportunity to explore science, technology engineering and math careers at the first “Energy Camp” offered at Jones County Junior College. The camp, co-sponsored by Mississippi Power will also give youth the opportunity to get hands on experience discovering energy principles such as motion and force, by building cars out of K’Nex pieces and various other activities. Careers in energy related fields will also be highlighted daily. The week will end with a K’Nex car competition, awards ceremony and Energy Expo for parents to enjoy. 
The camp will begin on Tuesday, May 27, through Friday May 30, from 8 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. in the J.B. Young building on the JCJC campus. Campers will need to bring a sack lunch daily, with a pizza party on Friday. The cost is $75 per camper.
