Former Jones County Junior College Bobcat wide receiver Javon Walker is back in the NFL.

And he is reuniting with his former quarterback with the Green Bay Packers, Brett Favre.

Walker, who played for JCJC in 1998-99, signed as a free agent with the Minnesota Vikings on Tuesday. The eight-year NFL veteran played with Favre and the Packers from 2002-05, the Denver Broncos from 2006-07 and the Oakland Raiders from 2008-09. He has 267 receptions for 4,011 yards and 31 touchdowns in his career.

Walker, who played at Florida State University after leaving JCJC, is a 6-foot-3, 215-pound wideout from St. Thomas More High School in Lafayette, La.

The Vikings host the Seattle Seahawks at 7 p.m. on Friday in a preseason game. It will be a matchup of Walker and his former Bobcat teammate, wide receiver Deion Branch, now with the Seahawks.

Minnesota will open the regular season at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 9 in the Louisiana Superdome against the defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints. The game will be nationally televised by NBC.
