JCJC employees honored for service

ELLISVILLE – Sixty-two Jones County Junior College faculty and staff were recently honored for their years of service to the college. Administrators treated everyone to a holiday lunch, recognizing employees at five year increments, beginning with those who have served at least five years. One employee, VP for External Affairs, Jim Walley was recognized for his 35 years as a former forestry instructor and a current administrator at JCJC. Computer Information Systems Technology instructor, Diane Sanford has served the college for 30 years. Three employees have put in 25 years: Athletic Director, Katie Herrington, Dean of the Honors Institute, Fine Arts and Humanities, Dr. Mark Taylor and MyJones Director, Candi Smith.  Seven employees have spent 20 years, thirteen have worked 15 years, twenty-one have been working for ten years at JCJC and sixteen have five years at Jones. All were given a special gift with a personalized plaque commemorating the accomplishment.
“This was a very special day for every one of the more than 450 employees at Jones, regardless of their length of employment on our campus,” said JCJC President, Dr. Jesse Smith.  “We were all able to share in the recognition of our co-workers and fellowship with everyone on campus.”
